O-6-301 Submit a Time Away From Work Request via Web Browser
π― Purpose
When an employee will be away from work on a scheduled work day, they must submit a request for Time Away from Work (TAFW) in Dayforce. This process shows the steps to submit this request in Dayforce using a web browser.
π Process
Log into Dayforce on a web browser.
In the upper left corner of the web browser, select the Menu icon. The menu will expand.
Select Time Away List. A list of all requested TAFW and their statuses will display.
To submit a new request, select the Request New Time Off button.
Select the reason of TAFW in the Reason field.

Use O-6-901 Salaried Employee Time Away From Work Reasons Tipsheet or O-6-902 Hourly & Per-Visit Employee Time Away From Work Reasons Tipsheet for guidance in selecting the appropriate reason.
Select the date range of TAFW requested.
Select whether the TAFW is a partial or full day. If for a partial day, complete the start and end time fields.
NOTE:
This step does not apply to salaried-exempt employees, who can only take TAFW in daily increments.
After confirming all information is correct, submit your request by selecting the βSubmitβ button in the lower right corner of the window.
Your new request for TAFW will now appear in the list of requests with the status of βPendingβ.
- Your manager will receive a notification to review your request for TAFW and will either approve or deny your request. You will be notified in a message once a determination has been made, and the status of the request will update in your Time Away list to either βApprovedβ or βDeniedβ.
