O-12-610 Wound Measurement Buddy Code

🎯 Purpose

To describe the process for utilization of the __92 Wound Measurement Buddy Code. When wound care management is added to the plan of care, clinicians will utilize the buddy code as a reminder to perform wound measurements at least weekly per agency best practice.

🔄 Processes

📅 Add Buddy Code to Calendar

• During development of the POC and/or any subsequent treatment changes, clinician will plot the 92 buddy code when wound measurements are scheduled.
• It is recommended per agency best practice to complete the wound measurements on the first visit of each week.
• It is also recommended whenever possible to keep the clinician performing the wound measurements (for example–case manager) as consistent as possible.

1. From the clinical note or within a Physician Order, select "Client Calendar" or "Add Calendar":

   

2. Select "Start Multiple Select" to select multiple dates on the calendar at a time:

   

3. Select the dates on the calendar to add the buddy code, then select "Add/Edit Service Codes":

   

4. This screen will show if there are already service codes plotted on selected dates. Select "Add":

   

5. Select the appropriate discipline from the drop-down and use the text box to add 92 to filter the service codes. Select the appropriate service code to add to the calendar:

   

6. Select the back icon to go back to the calendar:

   

7. Select "Save" from the menu in the upper right corner to return to visit or physician order:

   

🩺 Wound Measurement Buddy Code Completion

• When the 92 buddy code is scheduled to a clinician, it should be used as a prompt and reminder for the clinician to perform the wound measurements at the scheduled visit:

• Buddy code should always be scheduled with a corresponding skilled visit.

  

• Content of the buddy code is indicated below and is only to be completed when wound measurements are done.
