O-5-401 Microsoft Authenticator App

🎯 Purpose:

The Microsoft Authenticator App can be used to establish multi factor authentication (MFA) for other programs.

🔄 Process:

When prompted in Outlook, install the application on your cell phone:

Install Microsoft Authenticator App:

1. On your cell phone, go to the App Store (IOS or Google Play Store:

2. Search for and install "Microsoft Authenticator":

3. Open Application:

Set up your account in App:

1. Select Scan QR Code:

2. When prompted, scan the QR Code:

3. Follow the prompts in Outlook to verify account:

Use Authenticator to Sign In:

1. Once set up, when user signs into Outlook, a notification will be sent to the Authenticator app on the cell phone to validate:

2. Enter the number from Outlook and select Yes:

3. Outlook should launch. If error message pops up, close out and reopen Outlook.
